Game Preview: Pistons Face Wizards in Final Game at the Palace
The Detroit Pistons(37-43) face the Washington Wizards(48-32) tonight at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The game begins at 8:00 p.m. This will be Detroit's final home game at the Palace, as they move on to play at Little Ceasers Arena next season.
The Wizards come into tonight's game after losing a close game to the Miami Heat, 106-103. Markieff Morris led the way for Washington, scoring 21 points and adding five rebounds. John Wall finished with 16 points, eight assists, and six rebounds, but also committed eight turnovers. The loss moved the Wizards further back into fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
The Pistons picked up their second straight win, this time against the Memphis Grizzlies. Reggie Bullock, who started in place of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, scored 14 points in 22 minutes. Boban Marjanovic had another double-double, scoring 14 points and securing 10 rebounds. Darrun Hilliard(13 points), Tobias Harris(12 points), Beno Udrih(11 points), and Ish Smith(11 points) all scored in double-figures. Henry Ellenson, in an extended opportunity, added nine points and nine rebounds off the bench.
Tonight is the last game that will be played at the Palace, and there will be plenty of Piston royalty present. Rod Beard of the Detroit News reported the following of who will be in attendance.
