Game Preview: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Returns to Detroit for First Time with Lakers
The Detroit Pistons(33-40) host the Los Angeles Lakers(32-40) tonight at Little Ceasers Arena. The game begins at 7:00 p.m.
Detroit blew out the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, 117-95. Contributions came across the board for the Pistons, with Anthony Tolliver leading the way off the bench. He scored a season-high 25 points on a season-high six 3-pointers. Andre Drummond came close to notching a five by five, finishing with 15 points, 20 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and four blocks. Reggie Jackson added 15 points in 22 minutes.
Detroit outscored Chicago 66-47 in the first half, and never wavered in the second half. They knocked down 16 3-pointers and outrebounded the Bulls 49-44.
The Lakers handled the lowly Memphis Grizzlies 100-93 in their meeting on Saturday. Rookie forward Kyle Kuzma led the way with a double-double, finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Julius Randle added 20 points and 11 rebounds of his own. Former Piston, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, scored 18 points in the victory.
Los Angeles has been a much better team of late, as they are 9-6 since the All-Star break. A huge help for them has been better shooting from deep. Prior to the All-Star break, the Lakers shot just 27.7 percent from the 3-point line, but since the break, they have knocked down 34.2 percent of their shots from deep.
