Game Preview: Eliminated From Playoffs, Pistons Meet Grizzlies
The Detroit Pistons(36-43) face the Memphis Grizzlies(43-37) tonight in Memphis. The game begins at 6:00 p.m. est. Detroit was officially eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday night when the Boston Celtics defeated the Charlotte Hornets. Memphis clinched the seventh seed in the Western Conference on Friday.
The Grizzlies took down the New York Knicks on Friday night, 101-88. Mike Conley led Memphis, scoring 31 and points and adding six assists in the win. Marc Gasol recorded a double-double, finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Gasol was crucial in Memphis' win over the Pistons in their first meeting of the season. He scored 38 points in their win.
The Pistons won an exciting game against the Houston Rockets on Friday night, 114-109. Detroit was led by a monstrous performance by none other than Boban Marjanovic. Boban finished with a double-double, scoring a career-high 27 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Rookie Henry Ellenson, who started in place of Jon Leuer, scored 16 points and corralled 11 boards. Stanley Johnson came off the bench scoring 13 points and adding four rebounds and assists apiece.
