Game Preview: Can Detroit Win a Game on the Road?
The Detroit Pistons(8-10) travel to Charlotte to play the Hornets(10-7) tonight at 7pm EST. Detroit is 1-8 on the road this season. This is the second game of the Pistons four-game road trip. The Hornets come into this game off a blowout win versus the Memphis Grizzlies yesterday, winning 104-85. Kemba Walker led the way for Charlotte scoring 21 points and tallying three assists. Jeremy Lamb scored 21 points and snagged nine rebounds off the bench. The Hornets did practically everything better than the Grizzlies did. Charlotte had more rebounds and assists. Charlotte shot better than Memphis from the field in every aspect. The Pistons lost their last game to the Oklahoma City Thunder 106-88. All Piston starters scored in double figures but the defense was not there as Oklahoma City was able to pull away. Tobias Harris scored 21 points in the loss. Ish Smith added 14 points and three assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Marcus Morris, and Andre Drummond all finished with 10 points. Tobias Harris had the following to say on Detroit's road struggles:
"There is something we have to figure out, especially since we want to be a really good team," forward Tobias Harris said. "We have to find ways to grind it out on the road. Effort coming in has to be better and even our focus, too, has to be a lot better. Obviously, we have a ways to go to be a good team on the road. This next little stretch we have is going to be a good test for us to try to get together."
