The Pistons will begin a search for a new head coach at an important time in the organization's rebuilding process. Detroit is starting at another top-five draft pick with some pressure mounting to be competitive as soon as next season. Shams Charania of the Athletic reports that Milwaukee Bucks assistant Charles Lee and former Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka are expected to the pursued by the Pistons.

Casey had been the Pistons head coach of the past five seasons, amassing a disappointing 121-263 record. It is worth noting that Casey was hired when Detroit was rolling out lineups with Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond, and Reggie Jackson. Aspirations were higher, but Casey stuck around well into the rebuild despite some hefty losing. For those troubles, Casey will be staying with the organization in a front office role to help continue the rebuild.
