Blake Griffin Out Until Early November with Hamstring and Knee Soreness
Detroit Pistons star forward Blake Griffin will not travel with the team to start off the season as he deals with hamstring and knee soreness according to an official press release. He will be re-evaluated in the first week of November.

There was concern coming into the season that Griffin would not be healthy, especially with a report yesterday that his status was in question heading into the opener.
Griffin endured injuries at the end of last season and was not playing at full strength in the Pistons' first round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks. After a relatively quiet offseason, to still see that Griffin is injured is certainly a troubling sign.
Detroit faces a strong early-season schedule. Through the first week of November, the Pistons will play six games against playoff teams from last season (Indiana three times, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Toronto). It will be critical for Detroit to tread water until Blake Griffin returns to the starting lineup.
To say the Pistons are worse without their star is an understatement. Last season was statistically one of his best seasons of his career. Now, they will have to start the campaign without him.
